We provide peace of mind, safety, and empowerment for families, organizations and communities. We are located in Victoria, BC and offer in person and virtual workshops and courses.

Welcome to True North Canine! We're passionate about dogs, people and safety. Being one of the first Scent Discriminate businesses in Canada, we're looking to treat those who go missing from a trauma informed, effective approach.
We offer a variety of services, sell scent preservation kits and are available to come search for a loved one if they go missing!

Lucy is a Scent Discriminant Trailing Golden retriever trained by Scent Evidence K9. She joined the True North Canine team in May 2022. She has an incredible nose, a fun, sassy yet serious attitude and gives the best cuddles!If a loved one wanders off or goes missing, Lucy is the one for the job!

Brandy
Jess's guide dog, fellow athlete and law enforcer.
Brandy, AKA B, is a German Shepherd cross who was rescued by 3 Little Pitties and earmarked as a potential candidate for a service dog. Leash of Hope Assistance Dogs brought Brandy into their Assistance Dogs training program and she received the best education any puppy could dream of. At 11 months old, she moved in with Jessica and completed her guide training. Brandy now works as Jessica’s guide dog and participates in appropriate scent work to nurture her high-energy nature. Brandy does not work in any scent fields as the work could be contradictory to her guide dog career.
Hermione
The den leader with a passion for archeology, small yet mighty.
Hermione, a Senior Pup Cavalier King Charles spaniel, is the smallest of the bunch. But don’t let her size fool you! She is small and in charge. She teaches new dogs how to respect their elders as well as smaller dogs. Her role at True North Canine is adored pet and queen of The big comfy leather armchair.
